Ifyou don't replace the water pump now, when the time comes to replace the pump, you have to re-replace the belt. You have to remove the belt to get to the water pump, and you should not re-use timing belt. It should cost you 4 hours of labor plus parts. Make sure you also replace the timing belt tensioner.
Repeatthis procedure about 5-7 times. The key here is to get the timing right. Afterwards, go ahead and start the car's engine. Check if the SRS light has gone out. . #1. Gday. I thought Id do a write up on a 1HZ timing belt change. I did a search and didnt see 1, and thought it may help someone. I start by pulling the bolts (3) from the P/steer resivior, to let it flop around a bit. Then remove the 3 bolts (10mm head) and 4 clips from the plastic timing belt cover. Replacethe battery. If the button cell battery in the key fob of Fortuner is replaced incorrectly or a battery is unsuitable, it can damage the vehicle key. Only replace drained batteries with new batteries in the same voltage, size, and specification. Make sure the battery is facing in the right direction when inserting it. Wto reset timing Ignition (key) off press odo button. Hold odo switch ignition on for 5 seconds. Switch ignition off release odo. Press odo, switch ignition on and continue holding until light goes off. Switch key off and check by starting vehicle. The light should now be off .
